JOB PURPOSE
The role of the incumbent involves coordinating efforts to redefine the regulatory compliance function within the Corporate Affairs department. This encompasses the capacity to establish accountability for tasks and activities related to regulatory compliance risks. Additionally, the incumbent should demonstrate the ability to integrate controls and procedures seamlessly throughout the execution of compliance management.
KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES
1. Regulatory Compliance Advisory Services
- Contribute to the formulation of Transnet policies, strategies, corporate plans, and business plans.
- Coordinate projects that support Stakeholder Engagement & Reporting.
- Organize Compliance opinions.
2. Regulatory Compliance Risk Identification and Analysis
- Oversee the maintenance of the regulatory universe.
- Monitor and track Bills and pending legislations that impact Transnet.
- Analyze legislation for input into regulatory compliance processes.
3. Regulatory Compliance Risk Assessment and Management
- Coordinate the risk assessment of the regulatory universe.
- Develop and review regulatory compliance risk management plans.
- Monitor the implementation of controls/tasks.
QUALIFICATIONS, SKILLS AND COMPETENCE
- Legal Qualification (LLB) or Bachelor of Commerce or a 3-year Risk Management Diploma.
- Honours degree or Postgraduate qualifications in legal studies would be advantageous.
- Willingness to travel and work after hours.
SKILLS AND COMPETENCIES
- Proficient in MS Office and Windows programs.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to meet deadlines according to project plans.
- Stay updated on the latest developments in compliance management.
- Engage effectively with internal and external stakeholders.
- Comprehend policy implications for compliance management.
- Effective people management skills.
- Maintain a well-organized records management system.
