African Marine Solutions (AMSOL) extends an invitation to South African students to apply for the Bursary Programme for the academic year 2023 / 2024.
Deadline for Bursary Applications: 31 August 2023
AMSOL encourages unbonded students who plan to pursue studies at a Tertiary Institution or at a SAMSA-accredited training facility in 2024 to apply.
The basic bursary covers tuition as a minimum. Additional expenses such as residence and textbooks may be awarded at the discretion of AMSOL, contingent upon financial and personal circumstances.

The bursaries are open to students in the following disciplines:
- Bachelor of Marine Engineering
- Bachelor of Nautical Science
- Officer in Charge of a Navigational Watch (Deck Officer)
Requirements
- South African citizenship
- Grade 12 with a minimum score of 60% in English, Mathematics, and Physical Science
- Unbonded students (i.e., those who have not received bursaries from any other parties for 2024)
Application Process
Interested and eligible applicants are urged to submit the following documents via email to the provided address by the closing date, with “2024 Bursary Committee” clearly indicated in the email subject line:
- Letter of Motivation
- Curriculum Vitae (CV), including contactable references
- Final Grade 12 Results
- Proof of Registration at a Tertiary Institution for 2024
Additional Information
- The bursary might entail a contractual employment obligation, subject to AMSOL’s discretion and operational needs.
- Students are responsible for their own registration at a Tertiary Institution for 2024.
