The CSIR presents an internship opening within the Account Payable department, situated in the Financial Services portfolio.
The selected candidate will assume the responsibility of meticulously and comprehensively preparing and executing financial transactions. Key Responsibilities:
- Scrutinize the accuracy of supplier invoices and carry out precise processing, adhering to approval protocols, financial code allocations, VAT stipulations, calculations, and vendor particulars in compliance with CSIR policies and procedures.
- Execute payments and receipts meticulously, validating them against supporting documentation. Verify the precision of legislative requisites, terms, banking data, and account updates.
- Prepare comprehensive supplier reconciliations for all received statements, pinpointing prolonged outstanding amounts that warrant immediate action. This approach reduces loss risk, fosters enhanced supplier communication, and mitigates fraudulent incidents.
- Maintain a meticulous record-keeping system for all pertinent documents, aligning with CSIR’s document retention policy and legislative prerequisites to ensure accessibility when required.
- Facilitate the auditing process, both internal and external, by offering necessary information to meet audit deadlines. Guarantee the accuracy and comprehensiveness of supporting documentation.
Minimum Requirements:
- Attainment of a three-year National Diploma or Degree in: Accounting / Finance.
Skills and Competencies:
- Proficiency in adapting to varying time frames and performing effectively under pressure to fulfill deadlines.
- Fundamental knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite and grasp of VAT principles.
- Ability to uphold attention to detail, thrive under pressure, and manage stress adeptly.
