The Khula Cape Foundation invites students to apply for the Dudley D’Ewes Scholarship Programme for the academic year 2024.
Deadline for Scholarship Applications: 25 September 2023 @ 12:00
Scholarships will be granted for Post-Honours studies.
The scholarship award is valued at a maximum of R10,000, designated to cover study fees. The award will be transferred directly to the student’s fee account.
Scholarships are given for a single academic year; however, they may be renewed (partially or in full) for the subsequent year based on the submission of a satisfactory Progress Report from the scholar’s supervisor.
Applicants who are successful will receive notification regarding the outcome of their application within 6 weeks from the closing date of the scholarship application. If no communication is received by then, please consider your application as unsuccessful.
Recipients of the scholarship may be requested to present a brief lecture during the Foundation’s Annual General Meeting (AGM).
Requirements:
Applicants must fulfill the following minimum entry criteria prior to applying (please note that failure to satisfy all the requirements will result in your application being disqualified):
- Completion of a University Honours degree
- Enrollment or intention to enroll in a post-honours qualification in 2024
- Potential contribution to the achievement of the Foundation’s mission
- Enrollment or intention to enroll in a recognized and accredited tertiary institution in South Africa

Download and complete the Dudley D’Ewes Scholarship Application Form 2024 (.doc).
Submit clear copies of the following supporting documentation alongside your completed application form (submission of these documents is mandatory – omission of any items may lead to disqualification):
- Curriculum Vitae
- Official academic transcripts (on institutions’ letterhead)
- Abstract or outline of your proposed course of study (1 page)
- Two or more letters of reference (using the referee report on the application form – these letters should be submitted directly by the referees themselves to the provided email or postal address)
- Motivational letter pertinent to unique financial circumstances, if you are facing financial need (1 page)
