The Hexagon Trust invites students to participate in the Bursary Programme for the academic year 2024.

Bursaries are available for undergraduate studies within the fields of Commerce, Engineering, and Science.

Deserving students will receive bursaries based on the following criteria: academic performance, financial need, commitment to studies, and dedication to skill development and realizing their full potential.

The bursary encompasses coverage for the following expenses: registration fees, tuition fees, and a textbook allowance.

Shortlisted applicants will undergo an interview with the selection committee before the final selection is made.

Bursary recipients are expected to dedicate their time and expertise to community service both during and after completing their studies. Additionally, they are required to become members of the Hexagon Students Alumni Association.

Applicants must meet the following minimum criteria before applying (failure to meet these requirements will result in the application not being considered):

  • South African citizenship
  • Aged 18 years or older
  • Currently in Matric or completed Matric
  • Intent to study towards an undergraduate qualification in one of the specified fields
  • Entering the 1st year of study in 2024
  • Registered and accepted to study at a listed public university in South Africa
  • Minimum overall average of “C” symbol
  • Hardworking and strong academic record
  • Proven financial need
  • Commitment to community development

How to Apply:

Applicants need to create an account before logging in and submitting the application.

Include clear copies of the following supporting documents with the completed application form (failure to provide these documents may lead to disqualification):

  • Certified copy of ID document
  • Passport-sized photograph
  • Certified copy of Matric June 2023 exam results (if currently in Matric)
  • Certified copy of Matric final results (if completed Matric)
  • Acceptance letter from the tertiary institution (on institution’s letterhead)
  • Proof of parents or guardians’ household income (payslip if employed/ sworn affidavit if unemployed)
  • Motivational letter outlining future plans, school career background, and family history
  • Letter of recommendation from school principal

Note: A certified copy of your final results must be submitted as soon as they become available.

Additional Information:

  • Online applications take around 20 minutes and can be saved for later completion.
  • All documents must be certified and submitted online only.
  • Accepted document formats include jpg, jpeg, png, doc, docx, pdf, and rtf, with a size limit of 2MB each.
  • After application submission, you will receive updates via email or phone. The status of your application can also be viewed on the online student portal.
  • Different status messages in the student portal indicate various stages of the review process.
  • Communication regarding successful or unsuccessful application will be through the student portal.
